授業科目の内容

The purpose of this course is to discover the foundation of European culture through Greek culture and mythology. By delving into Greek mythology, we aim to uncover the essence of Western spiritual culture and human nature. The gods in Greek mythology possess strong characters, and within these myths lie the entirety of human failures and various ways of life. The texts are written in simple English, allowing for comfortable reading, but it's essential to look up unfamiliar words in a dictionary for confirmation of their meanings. In class, besides intensive reading, there will also be oral practice such as dictation, pair work, and discussion.
