授業科目の内容

Learning to write well is a difficult, life-long pursuit. This class aims to give students knowledge of the mechanics of the English essay. Student essays will focus on writing family history, on writing biographies. Even though some people are not interested in history per se, most people are interested in the history of their own families and ask many questions about their ancestors: Who were my grandparents, my great-grandparents, my great-great-grandparents? What did they do? How did they live? In this class students will select a family member, an ancestor, about whom they know little but would like to know more. The goal is to research his or her life and then write a 1000 word essay about that person's life.
