授業科目の内容

応用力をつけることを目的とした、通常のクラスよりも難易度が高いクラスです。

The goal of this course is to develop participants’ academic writing skills and also enjoy the process of writing. We will learn intermediate to advanced skills for writing academic essays, while practicing writing at the levels of sentence, paragraph, and essay. Students will also engage in writing exercises of a non-academic nature that will help them to improve their general writing skills while discovering the joy of writing.

  ・Students will be expected to complete homework after each day\'s lesson. This homework will be used in class the next day, and completion of such homework will be utilized by the professor to help calculate each student's final grade.

成績評価方法

Students' grades will be based on (1) participation in class work, (2) homework completion rates (homework is given daily), (3) attendance, and (4) performances on essay tests.

受講上の要望、または受講上の前提条件

Students are expected to attend class regularly, participate in all activities, and to complete all homework assignments. Absences should not exceed 3 classes, or students will risk receiving a failing grade. Students who can fulfill these expectations are encouraged to enroll for this course.
