基礎学力の充実をはかり、応用力をつけることを目的とする実力養成クラスです。
This advanced level writing course consists of two main parts: Creative Writing and Analytical Writing.
In the first part students will develop their creative language skills through study of the various elements of, and structures used in, written English narratives. Topics covered will include: establishing settings, building characters, creating conflict, organizing the story, and using dialogue, tense and descriptive language appropriately.
In the second part of the course students will develop their analytical language skills through the writing of an argumentative essay. We’ll look at formulating strong thesis statements, effective brainstorming, organising and outlining, and transitioning from outline to essay. In all cases the student’s goal is to construct a well-formulated, persuasive essay, complete with citations and references.
Students will be required to work cooperatively with other students in class as well as complete homework independently outside of class.
