授業科目の内容

This writing course consists of two main parts: Creative Writing and Analytical Writing.

In the first part, students will develop their creative language skills through the study of the various elements and structures found in English stories. Topics covered will include: describing settings, building characters, creating conflict, organizing the story, and using tense and descriptive language appropriately.

In the second part of the course, students will develop their analytical language skills through the writing of an argumentative essay. We’ll look at making strong thesis statements, effective brainstorming, organising and outlining, and transitioning from outline to essay. In all cases, the student’s goal is to write a well-made, persuasive essay that includes citations and references.

Students will be required to work together with other students in class as well as complete homework independently outside of class.
